EasyDOS Command Index

A Colon When referring to a drive in a DOS command, you must always follow the drive designator with a colon (:) (this is how DOS recognizes it as a drive designation). If you do not enter a drive designation, DOS always assumes you are referring to the drive you are currently working in (sometimes called the "default" drive)

If you create a user here, you are given the option of disabling root logins via SSH, as you can do all administration remotely with the user you have created. You can also leave gaps in the disk that are unallocated, and allocate them later, or potentially enlarge existing partitions later into that unallocated space using growfs(8)

It acts only on the last *.txt file it reads, so if there is no change to that, it deletes all *.txt, even if the preceding files had new or changed content. If files are already copied into destination file, then by the second run neither the prompt in question nor the confirmation overwriting prompt are displayed

If your PC's BIOS does not seem to support this, check if there is an update for the available BIOS! Your milage may vary :-) For some reason most BIOS'es prefer to refer to the thumbdrive as a USB Removable Floppy Disk or USB Zip Disk. I used this to flash my foxconn motherboard and every time I would get to the part in the award bios flasher it would say, press y to program or n to cancel and I would hit y and it would just sit there?????I did it over and over, made new disks, to no avail, then I thought I recalled reading along time ago about some motherboards having a jumper that is used to clear the cmos ( i believe this is what holds the bios settings) and that if this jumper is in place the bios is unwritable. The motherboard's ACPI implementation is still non-compliant and annoying :-) But I have a small collection of dos programs intended to run from floppy and a few of them are still useful so this is very useful experience and knowledge
