It's certainly not something you'd want to hand over to a complete stranger even if gold is now a lot easier to earn than it was a few years ago.edit: It'll also have been said elsewhere in these comments but the droprate shown on Wowhead for this recipe should be ignored as it's taken for anyone using the Wowhead client, irrespective of whether they have Alchemy or if they've already looted the recipe from a previous jar

Granted, if you want the recipe you'll have to do Archeology til your fingers bleed, but just to get the mount all you need to do is shell out a considerable amount of gold. There is also a gold cost, as the Sands of Time and the Pyrium-laced Crystaline Vial are purchased from the Innkeeper Yasmin in Uldum (northwest corner of the zone)
