The fact that energy is getting more expensive will curtail economic activity for the reasons you stated.Finding energy sources is getting more and more difficult to do cheaply, so the only way we can now keep energy prices low is to reduce demand without reducing economic activity, a neat tick if you can do it. We can only control what we can domestically and at best influence elsewhere.I believe thare are reasons to be optomistic that the wheels of progress won't necessairily come off the wagon
