linux - How to resume CUPS printer from command line? - Super User

Overall, there is no need to mess around with bash scripts, cron jobs, lpadmin, cupsenable or sudo in order to re-activate CUPS queues going down erratically. This is still the default, unless you define otherwise as per above mentioned alternatives It also was default + only possible behaviour for all queues in previous versions of CUPS (the one you do want to get rid of as per your question)

Pop-before-SMTP If SASL didn't work, or you are using clients which dont support it, the Pop-Before-SMTP is an easy way around that issue, so that people externally can still securly send mail via your server. When the main server came online again, and the backup spooled the email back to it, the SPF would again fail as the hoopa.com's SPF would not mention hotmailnot.com backup mx as an allowed mail server

This is one of the more newcomer friendly distributions I have used this year and I am happy with what the Ubuntu team has done, specifically focusing on minor improvements and bug fixes. When installing CentOS 6.6 (or any other version) from any of our media, you should always run 'yum update' after the install." See the release announcement and release notes for detailed information about this version

This has the advantage that the server does not have direct access to its backups (my desktop can reach the server via SSH, but not the other way around). Mount options for SSDs Any recent SSD should have the TRIM command available, which prevents performance degredation by allowing the OS to notify the SSD of which blocks are unused

Installing bind9 with DLZ on Ubuntu 11.10

  http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1867237
If I do apt-get build-dep bind9 on 12.04, it installs libdb-dev libdb5.1-dev If you then do Code: apt-get install libdb4.8-dev then it will remove libdb-dev and libdb5.1-dev in order to be able to install libdb4.8-dev... your users can enter DNS names themselves, you don't want the dns server to be stopped and restarted at every entry, because this disrupts the service for everyone else

Or, for a little more robustness, turn that variable into a list of users sourced from a configuration file, and loop over each user for the start and stop actions. This is likely related to the fact that in the time since I wrote the article for Ubuntu 8.04, there's a lot of work that's gone into making startup tasks run in parallel

The easiest way to do this is to type the following (if you don't understand what sudo does, or don't understand what grep does, you should look them both up on Google. This address is completely unique among all the IP addresses in the world (although it may change from time to time and the address you had yesterday may belong to your neighbor today)

Having 2 OS partitions gives me a fallback; If something in the new system (might be a driver, a bug, a missing app...) is affecting productivity, I can at least go back to where I was. My big stuff, like data (music, photos, documents) and Wine installations are on a separate drive, and get inserted into my new home directory via a few symlinks
