The combined purchase of all these weapons represents a fairly substantial investment for me, and before I take the full plunge, I would value any guidance you can give. However, with ANY pistol that you are going to carry for serious purposes, ALWAYS run at least 200 rounds of the ammo that you intend to carry through the weapon before trusting your life to it

To drop the price a bit Ruger has also forgone the final surface finishing of the respective monolithic aluminum and stainless frames however it provides a nice matte tactical texture for this type of revolver. In fact, with the full moon clip capabilities of dramatically increasing speed loading, the LCR-9 is on the top of my list for recommended defensive handguns

The models chambered in .357 have blackened stainless receivers to handle the extra pressure and recoil of the magnum chambering an weigh your quoted 17.1 ounces. Have fun! Reply padpakmu says: August 2, 2013 at 11:11 It was very misleading about the sight when XS sight system had an ad in the box and I bought the pistol because I intended to install that sight ! Very misleading for Ruger to allow them to do that to me

From the short-barreled Ruger revolver, it put five hits into a group that measured 1.45 inches high by 4 inches across, with the best three grouping into 1.55 inches. I confirmed long ago that this second measurement takes enough human error out of the equation to roughly equal what the same gun and load would do at the same distance from a machine rest, a device not readily available to most readers, and therefore something they can verify on their own with their own gun

LCR .357 Pros and Cons - Ruger Forum

I installed an XS Sight System tritium dot front sight to it and boy what a difference that made in my picking up the front sight! I've shot .38 Spl 130 grain FMJ's and 158 grain JHP's and RN Lead's and they were manageable recoil wise. Reasoning being his primary purpose for that gun was pocket carry he carried the .357 with .38's and felt the slight weight difference made for better pocket carry

What can I do to prevent this in the future? If you are on a personal connection, like at home, you can run an anti-virus scan on your device to make sure it is not infected with malware. If you are at an office or shared network, you can ask the network administrator to run a scan across the network looking for misconfigured or infected devices

Ruger LCR 9mm Double-Action Revolver

Worn in any number of concealment rigs, a small revolver makes an ideal backup gun, and having it chambered in the same caliber as a semi-auto pistol is a definite advantage. The trigger mechanism is designed to generate less friction than traditional DAO revolvers, thereby mitigating some of the resistance or stacking generally experienced in firing compact double-actions, and with practice the trigger pull becomes very predictable

Ruger LCR: New .38 Special revolver - The Firearm Blog

I know Ruger is very safety conscience but they should not put out a video where someone puts a round in the cyclinder and then starts pulling the trigger in a work area. (A hairy proposition in combat and not what you need in a dark parking lot with some thug in your face!) EVERY TIME I HAVE PULLED THE TRIGGER ON A REVOLVER IN 30 PLUS YEARS AND THOUSANDS OF ROUNDS, IT WENT BANG! Second, semi-auto guns are more maintenance intensive and must be kept clean to function reliably

It can be thumb cocked and fired by a short, lighter pull of the trigger (SA), or fired without first cocking the hammer by a long, much heavier, pull of the trigger (DA). However, if you elevate the muzzle as you give the ejector rod a brisk push, most of the fired cases usually drop free, leaving one or two that must be removed individually

The 13.5-ounce, small-frame, 5-shot LCR has three main components: a polymer fire control housing, an aircraft aluminum monolithic frame and an extensively fluted stainless steel cylinder. Final Notes My son-in-law and I put the LCR through its paces in a number of drills and the LCR proved to be quite the performer within its operations parameters at 10 yards or so

The Newport, N.H.-based gun maker is well known in the shooting community for its hunting rifles, cowboy-style single action revolvers, and target .22 caliber rifles and pistols. Various pistols of the past, chambered in .25 ACP, .32 ACP and .380 ACP calibers, have not always had the greatest track record for 100 percent reliability
