That means you can stay on a Skype call and go check your mail, but it also means that the VoIP connection will be aware of incoming calls when you're not actively using an app. This one will drain your battery if you're not docked -- but who's using a GPS app and not plugging that thing in? Okay, we might be a little guilty of that

iVoice R1 Bluetooth Hands Free Speakerphone Car Kit review - CNET

Design The R1 unit measures 4 inches wide by 2.75 inches tall and is a hair larger than 0.25 inches deep with the visor clip removed, or about the size of a deck of cards, and is easily tucked into a shirt or pants pocket. The Bottom Line There is much to like about the iVoice R1 Bluetooth hands-free kit's call quality, we just wish the interface was easier to use and understand

Lint, dirt, debris that falls into my pocket also falls into those mic holes and into the adjacent headphone jack and the speaker holes on the other side of the lightning connector. They tried to test it with me calling the store phone using my speakerphone but that was nuts because the store was so loud they would never be able to hear anything

Is there anything I can do, other than continue to use speaker and a headset, to fix or at least remedy this issue? Restoring to iOS 5 is not at option, as much as I'd love it to be, since my iTunes backup will not work on iOS 5, only on iOS 6. Since I decided to go hardware-level and was thinking of replacing the mic (attached to the dock connector, and where the speaker and home button connects as well), I decided I'd try to clean the connection as a last resort

After some troubleshooting it became obvious that my speaker and mic both work perfectly, except when I activate speakrphone during a call, my mic goes mute. Reading other posts online, I realized that the soft reset I did had cleared up the issue - I was able to hear and so was the person on the other end of the call
