SQL Server Forums - Installing SQL Express 2008 quietly in setup
I tried connecting both with "sa" and default credentials, same result.Been racking my brains here for 2 days filled with research and trial-and-error so I'm asking if someone has done this before, please post the steps I should take. What I need right now is: * detect somehow if the instance I'm trying to install already exists and skip this step; right now if I attempt a 2nd installation, the installer will crash (will post the contents of the log file at the end of the post)

Visual Studio 2008 SP1 connected to a database that runs on SQL Server 2008 in a machine other than mine (level 8.0 compatibility, as it is plugged into a db in 2000) 2. Fred A 27 Feb 2011 7:14 AM Hi Beth, After running SQL Server SP2 on Windows 7 x64 did it upgrade your SSMS to 10.2.4000.0 or did it leave it at 10.50.1600.1? Both my Win3k3 x32 bit and Vista x32 systems have been upgraded to 10.2.4000.0. Being on the VS team I have a lot of internal builds to install of VS so I am also semi-frequently installing SSMS on the VMs :) Cheers!
