In a city where the vast majority of violent crime is committed by blacks, this is the only episode (a token?) this season (only the 2nd in 3 seasons) about a black perp. Munch introduces himself in the squad room, Ellis says, "Have we met?" This is an allusion to the fact that Braugher played opposite Richard Belzer's character Munch for six seasons on Homicide: Life on the Street
Maybe the seperation of her and Stabler is even letting her bloom and shine again, so maybe this big change after so many years is a good thing for the series, so I hope this series will now last for many more years, because now it's one of my favourite series again!
