NOTE: It appears that by design, the OTA update that became available starting with iOS 5 beta4 will *not* be automatically applied to jailbroken devices. FULL blobs stitched to a STOCK IPSW gives you a completely self-contained signed IPSW that iTunes will accept without any tricks (no need to go into pwned DFU mode, no need to start TinyUmbrella TSS server, no need to redirect to Cydia server for blobs) PARTIAL blobs stitched to any IPSW requires you to go into pwned DFU mode before running iTunes

What I did to solve it was get the iphone into dfu, download the 3.0 OFFICIAL iphone firmware, connect my iphone to pc, open itunes, press shift+restore and select the 3.0 IPSW, then after you get back on 3.0, you need to use redsn0w to unlock. Because of this, firmware downgrading must be done in DFU mode. This means if you need to restore your iPhone to current version simply put the iPhone in recovery mode and iTunes takes care of the rest but if you need to downgrade your current firmware to lower one you need to put your iPhone in DFU mode

So I went to update my jailbroken iphone 5 to ios 7, the update failed, and like alot of others, is now only giving me the option to restore and update, I saved most of my pictures, but not alot of important ones I tried doing a hard reset, no luck, tried wondershare, simply goes to apple icon, 2x then back to the black screen with the cable connecting to itunes. Im hoping you are still around to help a girl out ! thank you Robin please help i cant find a solution for this anywhere my iphone 3gs battery stopped working so i replaced it now it starts up in recovery mode when i try to restore iphone it says not enough space and that i should remove some apps or empty recycle bin but when i try to access it, it says i need to restore it first or it wont work
