Microsoft will continue to improve Enterprise Mode backward compatibility, and to invest in tools and other resources to help customers upgrade and stay up-to-date on the latest version of Internet Explorer." If that's not an option for a large business or government agency, they might be able to arrange for pricey custom support contracts like those negotiated by some XP laggards. There is no change to the support timelines for any other .NET Framework version, including .NET 3.5 SP1, which will continue to be supported for the duration of the operating system lifecycle

Why Use Internet Explorer on a Mac? This has been a common question, but the primary reasons that Mac users need Internet Explorer are either for web development and web app compatibility purposes, or to access certain web sites or apps that require the use of IE to gain access. I also have Nero, Divx, Photoshop Elements 11, Premiere Elements 11 and Intel graphics on this PC but they were not causing any of these problems as other forums has pointed out. Though you cannot overwrite or delete these files on your computer, even in safe mode (probably these files are used and locked or are in any other way protected)

March 8, 2007 Thanh Hi :) Had that same problem, updating Nero to 7.7.5.1 and DivX to 6.5.1 did NOT fix it! But uninstalling DivX did fix it, and installing the latest Xvid codec made me able to watch any DivX encoded file in WMP 11 again

Because of the intermittent errors that I get, I haven't been able to nail it down to a given site or event as it can occur when closing multiple tabs or at any time. Edit If a restore point fails in normal mode, then retry it in Safe Mode as AV programs can interfere with restore points - think it may have something to do with reverting their Definitions

I think that would pretty much minimize any potential risk --- If you haven't already done so, there are quite a few additional suggestions in the 'Comments' section below the article. If none of them help with the problem, and you wanted to try to Disable Protected Mode, then you might re-enable Protected Mode as soon as you re-boot your system
