There is some dummy settings (dummy refers to a setting that was never used) including one that stops you from deleting a file which was intended for the Japanese DVD config file
(Note: To avoid damaging the screw threads on the PlayStation 2 system or the Network Adaptor, do not over-tighten and do not use a screwdriver.) Remove the sticker covering the NETWORK connector on the Network Adaptor, and plug your Ethernet cable in the connector labelled NETWORK. It may be helpful to use the indentation at the top of the expansion bay cover; this will assist in securing a grip with your fingers in order to pull the cover free
