Stuff Black People Don't Like - SBPDL: They Will Come for Stone Mountain
In other countries parents receive direct subsidies to stay at home which is quite funny when you think about it and there is precious little room for humor in much of this. In other words, go back to RimJob and fight Muslims from your own turf, pathetic and ridiculed as it is.This is my own opinion: You over-express yourself

KATE: We took our vows before the magistrate in June, and two weeks later had a religious ceremony and a wedding dinner which even your parents attended! We were married for 21 years and had 6 children. Luther, aren't you about the same vintage as that other dude, Christopher Columbus? LUTHER: Columbus? I didn't know much about him or his adventures -- news didn't travel very fast in my day

Martin Luther Life - 11 (With Friends)
" On May 25, the Emperor issued his Edict of Worms, declaring Martin Luther an outlaw.Luther in Exile at the Wartburg Castle Luther had powerful friends among the princes of Germany, one of whom was his own prince, Frederick the Wise, Elector of Saxony. Anne! I'll become a monk!" Spared of his life, but regretting his words, Luther kept his bargain, dropped out of law school and entered the monastery there

The Vatican was trying to modernize itself, and several monks in the German Diocese of Mainz, especially one Jonathan Tetzel, were going around the countryside collecting money for the Vatican, while telling donors that this would free their souls, and the souls of their loved ones, from purgatory much sooner than otherwise would be possible. I never had any special interest in the Church before, but now I feel a great affection and admiration because the Church alone has had the courage and persistence to stand for intellectual truth and moral freedom
The best source I have found to understand this much maligned concept is Will Durant's The Story of Civilization, The Reformation: "An Indulgence, therefore, was the remission, by the church, of part of all of the temporal (i.e., not eternal) penalties incurred by sins whose guilt had been forgiven in the sacrament of penitence." For those who are not familiar with Will Durant, he was a former priest who lost his faith and became a superb historian and scholar. Obstinacy and the exigencies of the moment, on the part of Pope Clement VII (1523-1534), had resulted in a bitter dispute and the conflict of the Reformation reaching the British Isles in 1527
Martin Luther - Conservapedia
Repeated bouts of depression may have arisen partly from physical causes having to do with Luther's savagely ascetic lifestyle, which was self-imposed against the advice of his confessor. He suffered from constipation, diarrhea, hemorrhoids, dizziness, ringing in his ears, an ulcer on his leg, kidney stones, heart problems, and bouts of depression (battles with the Devil, he called them)
Luther Posted 95 Theses - 1501-1600 Church History Timeline
Luther wrote My situation was that, although an impeccable monk, I stood before God as a sinner troubled in conscience, and I had no confidence that my merit would assuage him. No one took up Luther's challenge to debate at that time, but once news of his proposals became known, many began to discuss the issue Luther raised that salvation was by faith in Christ's work alone

Martin Luther Biography
Luther's reply was written down as he spoke it: "Unless I am convicted by Scripture and plain reason -- I do not accept the authority of popes and councils, for they have contradicted each other -- my conscience is captive to the word of God. Return to top Upheaval in Germany The protest against the indulgences set off a conflagration which, step by step, resulted in most of Northern Europe breaking away from the authority of the Catholic Church
Of the 6,000 different pamphlets that were published in German-speaking lands between 1520 and 1526, some 1,700 were editions of a few dozen works by Luther. Luther would pass the text of a new pamphlet to a friendly printer (no money changed hands) and then wait for it to ripple through the network of printing centres across Germany
Wittenberg, Germany: Martin Luther's Town
The Castle Church (Schlosskirche) is at the far end, and you will pass Luther's house, the old University, Melanchthon and Cranach's houses and the Markt. The Ten Commandments, Lucas Cranach Return to top Lucas Cranach's House Lucas Cranach (the Elder) was not only one of the most accomplished and prolific painters of the 16th century, he was also the mayor of Wittenberg and owned a pharmacists shop that is still doing business as a pharmacy (or Apotheke) in Wittenberg! He painted many of the well-known figures of the Reformation, as well as the local princes and princesses, and his paintings, drawings and woodcuts are in museums all over Europe
It is very difficult, even for the most learned theologians, at one and the same time to commend to the people the bounty of indulgences and the need of true contrition. This unbridled preaching of indulgences makes it difficult even for learned men to rescue the reverence which is due the pope from slander or from the shrewd questions of the laity
"When I die, I want to be a ghost...So I can continue to pester the bishops, priests and godless monks until that they have more trouble with a dead Luther than they could have had before with a thousand living ones." Go back to Program One - Driven to Defiance Find out more about the Characters in Luther's life. Convinced he would not survive the trip to Worms but with absolute faith he declared, "I am not afraid, for God's Will will (sic) be done, and I rejoice to suffer in so noble a cause." Diet of Worms His stand became a legend that then inspired a continent-wide revolution, overturning the thousand-year old domination of the Church
How great then is the horror, how great the peril of a bishop, if he permits the Gospel to be kept quiet, and nothing but the noise of indulgences to be spread among his people! Will not Christ say to them, "straining at a gnat and swallowing a camel"? In addition to this, Most Reverend Father in the Lord, it is said in the Instruction to the Commissaries which is issued under your name, Most Reverend Father (doubtless without your knowledge and consent), that one of the chief graces of indulgence is that inestimable gift of God by which man is reconciled to God, and all the penalties of purgatory are destroyed. Give heed to the cause of the holy Roman Church, mother of all churches and teacher of the faith, whom you by the order of God, have consecrated by your blood
The Ninty-Five Theses of Martin Luther (1517)
It is certain that when the penny jingles into the money-box, gain and avarice can be increased, but the result of the intercession of the Church is in the power of God alone. In light of his discouragement with the Church, as Luther studied and lectured on Psalms, Hebrews, and Romans he came to new insights about repentance, salvation, and the role of faith
Christians should be taught that the pope does not at all intend that the purchase of indulgences should be understood as at all comparable with the works of mercy. Christians should be taught that the pope's indulgences are useful only if one does not rely on them, but most harmful if one loses the fear of God through them
Martin Luther
During this period of forced sojourn in the world, Luther was still hard at work upon his celebrated translation of the Bible, though he couldn't rely on the isolation of a monastery. Luther's struggle to find peace with God Young Brother Martin fully dedicated himself to monastic life, the effort to do good works to please God and to serve others through prayer for their souls

95 Theses - Luther
It is certain that when the penny jingles into the money-box, gain and avarice can be increased, but the result of the intercession of the Church is in the power of God alone. But still more are they bound to strain all their eyes and attend with all their ears, lest these men preach their own dreams instead of the commission of the pope
What was the point of nailing something to the Wittenberg door? Was this a common practice? It was simply a convenient public place to advertise a debate, and not an unusual or uncommon practice. In my view, the fact that Luther was clearly a concerned pastor who was deeply concerned that doctrine and life went hand in hand will be his vindication
At the end of his life, Luther turned strident in his views, and pronounced the pope the Antichrist, advocated for the expulsion of Jews from the empire and condoned polygamy based on the practice of the patriarchs in the Old Testament. Peter with his own money rather than with the money of poor believers? The 95 Theses were quickly distributed throughout Germany and then made their way to Rome
